Practitioner Information

UK Reiki Federation

An independent federation of individuals who have been attuned to Reiki, with the objective of forming a national umbrella organisation for education, training and guidance in the public practice of Reiki.

Currently offering two levels of membership - Associate (for practitioner members) and Provisional (for non-practitioners or those who do not wish for, or are not yet eligible for Associate Membership).

Full details at:  www.reikifed.co.uk

Elizabeth is North Scottish Regional Co-ordinator for the UKRF.

Insurance
You will require professional insurance to practice Reiki.
We all know that Reiki can do no harm, however we live in a litigious world!
You can obtain insurance from most insurance companies.  If you are already insured for another therapy you can usually add Reiki at little or no extra charge.
UK Reiki Federation members can obtain a discount on the usual IPTI (Independent Professional Therapists International) fee and it is well worth joining them anyway to obtain the informative newsletters and to support a forward thinking and all inclusive professional body.
IPTI can be contacted at 01777 700383

Sources of Funding and Advice
The Reiki Training Centre is a Registered Learning Provider with the Department of Education and Skills and forms part of the National Grid for Learning in the UK.
Reiki students may also wish to consider using a Career Development Loan to fund training.
This government scheme provides access to funding via interest free loans which are repayable in instalments following completion of a vocational course
Full information about these loans can be obtained by contacting the Career Development Loan (CDL) information line on 0800 585 505. They also have a useful website with downloadable application forms at
www.lifelonglearning.dfes.gov.uk/cdl

Anyone planning to set up in practice might benefit from advice from The Small Business Gateway.
Advice is generally free and some limited grant funding may be available for new start businesses.

Your local Job Centre Plus may also be of help.
